Hello, my name is Matt Sholley. I’m a user experience strategist, product designer and design system designer. I’ve worked with American Airlines, WheelsUp, Upwork, US Airways, U-Haul and many other brands and clients. With over 25 years of experience in the creative industry, specializing in graphic design, print design, website design and with a focus on user experience design, research and information architecture (16 years in UX).
Throughout my career, I’ve played many roles as both individual contributor and creative leader. I also have operated my own design studio for 10 years, where my specialty was in print and website design. This allowed me to wear many hats from being creative director, designer, print broker, developer and sales manager. It was challenging, but definitely learned the most from each of those experiences.
I’ve directed a design team of 16 user experience designers for US Airways and American Airlines. I enjoyed mentoring, pushing innovation and building a cohesive experience across many digital products and platforms.
Most recently, my role have been UX Strategist, Product Designer and most recently Design System Designer. In all of these roles, I bring my passion of mentoring and building up the team to be stronger and more efficient. I’m always seeking for new methods and practices and modernizing tools and design systems for teams to consume. Most recently, I’ve onboarded American Airlines with Figma throughout their organization. I enjoy finding new tools, methods and streamlining processes for organizations to design and develop faster.
I am also a Certified Practitioner of Human-Centered Design (LUMA Institute). Design Thinking has been instrumental in facilitating creative workshops and driving conversations around user needs
